About the store image
Taken from the name of Inis's beloved broadsword, Arfur or Arfr is the Old Norse word for heritage; encompassing at its heart and core all of the traditionally made crafts here in Inis's shoppe. As both a storyteller and craftsman, a deep focus upon tradition and heritage, and a passion for her chosen arts is the personal touch that Inis puts into each and every product here at Arfur. Whether it is her beloved Historical Fiction Adventure book series, hand-woven pine needle baskets, hand-spun wool or beautifully home-tanned skins and hide products, her desire and inspiration is to celebrate ancient traditions, the skills of bygone generations, and the beauty of nature. All of the materials are harvested from Inis's rugged mountain homestead, and the beautiful flocks and herds that are raised there.
As it was once said...the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step...so Inis L. Fal wishes you all a fair journey as you explore this site...may the road rise to meet you...may you complete your quest...and may you find what your heart desires! Welcome to ARFUR!

If any of you are unfamiliar with paypal.me, instructions are here below for your convenience!

When using paypal.me, all customers must calculate the TOTAL COST of their purchase(s) themselves, and enter in that amount where indicated (the reason for this is that paypal.me does NOT calculate the total cost for you, EITHER when purchasing one or more items OR more that one of a single product.)

PLEASE REMEMBER TO ALWAYS ENTER THE NAME(S) OF THE ITEM(S) YOU ARE PURCHASING AND AMOUNT OF EACH IN THE INFORMATION/MESSAGE BOX PROVIDED WITH PAYPAL.ME, AS WELL AS YOUR FULL NAME AND SHIPPING ADDRESS!

NOTE THAT CUSTOMERS DO NOT HAVE TO CALCULATE SHIPPING COSTS THEMSELVES. THE SHIPPING IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF EACH ITEM.

IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE 10 FEATHERS (FOR $8.00), THE TOTAL AMOUNT THAT YOU MUST ENTER YOURSELF IS $8.00. Is Shipping Included In The Price For Each Item?

Yes, for the convenience of her customers, all shipping is INCLUDED in the price of each item(s) for orders WITHIN the United States. International orders WILL incur an extra cost of shipping, depending on where the product(s) is being shipped to.

Policy On Days Orders Are Processed

Due to Inis's deep belief in these age-old words recorded in the ancient book of Genesis, "And God rested the seventh day and hallowed it." and the equally age-old command, "Remember the 7th day to keep it holy," ANY ORDERS PLACED ON SATURDAY WILL NOT BE FILLED OR RESPONDED TO UNTIL THE NEXT WEEK DAY (MONDAY)

Please also note that Inis lives in a very rural area where unforeseen/uncontrollable factors such as bad weather and/or bad roads can affect the timeliness of orders being processed and shipped out. Be assured, however, that come snow or sleet or blinding blizzards, Inis will make sure your package gets to you in as short a time as possible! THIS is the Viking pledge of loyalty!

How Are Items Shipped Out/When Will I Receive My Order?

I ship out all items using economy or standard shipping. Generally for books, this means MEDIA MAIL, and for other non-media items, I usually use USPS First Class. Per the USPS website, First Class  Mail shipping time is 1-3 days, Media Mail is 2-8 days.

I kindly request all of my customers to allow 1-2 days for me to process their order before the items/products they have ordered are shipped out!

Is There A Price For Local Pickup Of A Product That Does Not Include Shipping costs?

YES! Certain products in this shoppe have a "LOCAL (NO SHIPPING) PRICE" given, in which shipping fees/costs are EXCLUDED from the price of the item. If an item in this shop does NOT have a "local (no shipping) price" given, THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE ITEM CANNOT BE PURCHASED AND PICKED UP LOCALLY. It simply means the item has a SET price that is not altered for shipping OR local pickup. (Example: if an item price in this shoppe is listed at $50.00, with no local pickup price, this means the item is set at $50.00. If it were to be purchased locally, the price would remain $50.00. If it were to purchased online and shipped, the total price would remain $50.00)
About imageAbout imageAbout image

As a descendant of Vikings and Celts from heroic days of old, Inis (that's me!) is proud to raise the purest strain of sheep straight from the longboats of the Vikings themselves...The Icelandic Sheep Breed (which she has grown up alongside and shepherded since early childhood). When it comes to all things SHEEP (and Icelandic in general), Inis has had the honor and privilege of learning at the feet of the very best teachers...the Icelandic sheep farmers themselves. Every year she has made her "pilgrimage" to Iceland to work in the lambing season and beyond on farms with 500 to as many as 800 animals (mostly ewes!). Her work on both sheep and dairy farms has brought her in contact with the most knowledgeable individuals, who have graciously passed on some of their immense knowledge to her in regards to the characteristics of this unique breed, the best qualities to look for, the best techniques for assisting in birth, color genetics and patterns and so much more! Their time and patience, and what's more, willingness to share what they know has not only enriched her knowledge and skill as a shepherd of this beloved breed, but also deepened her love for the common heritage she shares with the animals she raises! It is a love that runs deeper than the deep blue sea surrounding this jewel of an island, faster and stronger than the highest waterfalls (and she's seen quite a few!) and more deeply rooted and immovable than the fierce determination and stubbornness of the unique Icelandic Leadersheep (Forystufé) (which she has also raised!) And it has given her the greatest gift of all...that of friendship, both human and animal!

On Inis´s homestead, she believes in smaller, more manageable herds where a greater emphasis can be placed on the overall health and well-being of the animals. With a smaller flock, Inis´s sheep are able to grow faster and healthier on rich, organic mountain pastures. Inis also believes in maintaining the all-natural (holistic) health of her flock as much as possible, and keeps them on a weekly worm-free program using tried and true Molly´s Herbals: https://mollysherbals.com/
along with mineral supplements and dried, powdered seaweed straight from Iceland (the sheep absolutely ADORE it!)

(Inis also uses Molly's Herbals for her dog and other homestead critters. When using natural de-wormers, there is a very noticeable difference in the hair/wool qualities of the animals...Inis has noticed her sheep develop much softer, suppler wool when using non-chemical treatments, and many people have commented on her dog's softer, sleeker coat compared to many other neighboring dogs.)

Inis specializes in purebred, unregistered Icelandic stock with the finest qualities and standards of the breed!
